We have an ongoing and serious problem with fly tipping in the Coleshill and surrounding areas.
There have been examples of residents catching perpetrators themselves, before calling police. After investigation and court appearances, said perpetrators have been let off with very little consequences.
I believe this needs to be fixed - there should be more effective punishments for those caught fly tipping.
We also need to enhance detection - a mobile camera system to be placed at fly-tipping hotspots would help immensely.
This kind of solution has been used effectively elsewhere, and would provide coverage for various locations for minimal cost.
